Gas Leak Detection Test

For as little as two minutes per gas appliance, you can get peace of mind knowing your home is safe from gas leaks- or, if a leak is discovered, take appropriate action to fix it. Protect your home and family with a gas leak detection test.

What’s a Gas Leak Test?

During a gas leak detection test, the inspector uses a handheld gas leak detector to identify any leaks at their source for each gas fueled appliance current on. Although most gas leaks are small, continuous leaking indoors can still be inhaled by those living within the property.

Causes

To determine if there are gas leaks in your home, it’s important to start with the most common culprits:

  • Household appliances
  • Gas-pipe corrosion
  • Poor ventilation
  • Missed annual maintenance on HVAC systems

Warning Signs

Some warning signs of a gas leak inside your property to keep you safe are:

  • “Rotten egg” smell
  • “Hissing” sounds
  • Fatigue, sickness or skin issues
  • Deferred maintenance for your natural gas appliances (fireplace, water heater, clothes dryer, kitchen range, etc.)
